About Us
Meet the Farmers:
Weʻre Griff and Lipine. ʻĀina stewards and farm newbies who founded Volcano Organics from a place of vision, love, and a splash of mid-life crisis. What began as a few wild ideas bloomed into a journey of reconnecting with self and the land, creating small-batch products rooted in care and sustainability. Nestled in the unique landscape of the ahupuaʻa of Keaʻau, our work is guided by a deep respect for the ʻāina.
Meet the Maker:

Growing up as a Kanaka Maoli in the diaspora, returning home to Hawaiʻi has allowed me to reconnect with my roots and cultivate a deeper relationship with my heritage. After 25 years in Seattle, WA and a 15-year career in the medical field, I found myself burned out and ready for a shift—something more intentional and deeply healing. That path led me to herbalism.
As a student of the Herbal Academy, I blend my clinical background and herbal studies with an intuitive approach to craft small-batch products and skincare rooted in wellness. Each product is infused with herbs lovingly grown and harvested from the farm when available. With a focus on sustainability, I carefully source ethical oils, butters, herbs (when needed) and local beeswax to ensure every balm, salve, and infusion honors both the earth and the people who use it.
Meet the Farm Hand:

I’m the guy who does the heavy lifting, digs holes, and pretends to know what half the plants are. (Spoiler: I don’t. I just carry the buckets). She’s the brains, the herbal wizard, and the reason you’re reading this. Everything we make is natural, organic, and handcrafted — mostly by her. My contribution? Sweating and building things that eventually break.
My wife can turn a handful of weeds into a lotion that makes you smell like a forest fairy and a salve that’ll fix just about anything short of a missing limb. I have no idea how — I just nod and keep hauling mulch. So if you’re into lotions, salves, teas, and natural goods made with love (and sarcasm), you’re in the right place. She makes the magic, I make it possible, and together we somehow keep this place running.
